Emigration- a topic which is still popular and up to date. Over 7 million Germans were once emigrants. Every year, about 146 000 German citizens decide to leave their home country. This phenomenon already started in 1683. Then, there were big emigration waves in Germany. In most cases, the destination was the USA, the land of opportunity.
